Florida Governor Rick Scott has appointed Indian American Danny Gaekwad to the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees.
Gaekwad has been appointed for a five-year term starting February 2, 2018, through January 6, 2023.

TROY, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kansai Paint Group, a global manufacturer of paints and coatings, (Head office: Osaka Japan, President and CEO: Hiroshi Ishino) has announced approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its Kansai Anti-Mosquito Paint. The Kansai Anti-Mosquito Paint is designed for interior use and contains a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide. The paint has been shown to significantly reduce the presence of mosquitoes in painted areas, contributing to effective mosquito population control and reducing the spread of many mosquito-borne diseases. Formulas for all base colors have been approved for use in this product, enabling Kansai to offer a wide swath of attractive colors.

The Hilton Garden Inn will be built on the old Chamber of Commerce site immediately east of the square.
It was all hugs and high-fives on the downtown Ocala square Friday morning, as dignitaries and others gathered for the groundbreaking of the new Hilton hotel.
